Monday
was rather chaotic -- a day of laundry and “oh, I forgot…” errands. Picked up my second
pair of glasses at Costco on our way to SeaTac and enjoyed dinner at the
airport. Flight uneventful. I finished Michener’s The Novel – interesting to me b/c of the insights into the
publishing industry, but I found the plot somewhat contrived at the end. I do
plan to read one of Michener’s classics soon. Lynn and Greg watched A Dog’s Purpose. I also snoozed, more or
less.
Lynn’s daughter met us at Logan at 6 Tuesday
morning. Naps were the first order once we got back to the MH. $800 later, the AC
is now running properly. Stocked up on some groceries, laundered a load of coveralls
and rags, and reviewed our plans for the next couple weeks. Greg joined Lynn
& me for our last game of Scrabble.
Final cleaning and tidying up Wednesday
morning. Left around noon – it was a real treat to have so much time with my
sister, and we were both a bit teary at the end. Greg and I also kinda fell in
love with Owen, her Frenchie (who I describe as “cute, in the oddest sort of
way”).

Greg & his new best buddy. Lady would be jealous! |
Easy drive to Schenectady, where we
plugged in at the Rotterdam Elks Club and then caught an afternoon showing of Dunkirk. Very powerful – I found myself
sobbing at one point because I just can’t conceive/accept the cruelty of war. It really
brought home the reality of PTSD. How can/do you move on after such horrific
experiences?
BlogThought... I'm embarrassed at how few pictures have been taken over the last week+. I think I was just out of "travel" mindset or possibly just lazy. In retrospect, I can think of several shots that would have been interesting. C'est la vie. Below is one of my favorite shots. This was taken at last year's family picnic, and almost all the grandkids are present.
