Bryce, Day 1

Wednesday, Nov 1…

Today we packed a lunch and drove to the end of the canyon. First stop was Rainbow Point, checking out that view and then walking the Bristlecone Loop trail. On the way back, we made short stops at several overlooks. Pics below...

First View (Rainbow Point)
Love the colors!

Lone rock walls rising out of the trees.

Lots of ravens. We shared
 lunch with this fellow.
Afterwards, we completed
the Bristlecone Loop.

Hoodoo: a freestanding column of
weathered rock, often forming an
unusual and/or imaginative shape.

Yet another awesome vista.

(We missed Arches Nat'l Park, but
still saw several arches.)

Solar on Steroids!

On our way out, we stopped briefly at the gift shop. (No purchase made.) I was surprised to see this huge solar panel, but realized pretty quickly that it made perfect sense.

BlogThoughts... Sometimes the littlest things bring big pleasure. Greg stopped at a local bakery this morning while he was running errands. Along with our sandwiches he packed a delicious jumbo oatmeal raisin cookie. I took small bites to make my half last longer. Another cause for conscious appreciation today was chatting with Warren and learning that not only is he now in a very healthy relationship, Liam is also very happy having this woman (Linda) in his life. Home run!! (And… Chris is about to embark on a new career w/ Compass Group, provider of Microsoft food services worldwide… and Amy has recently overcome several significant issues and will soon be sealed to Jonathan for time & all eternity... and my sister will celebrate Christmas in her new home.   Life is good.)  I should get a new t-shirt.
