On to Austin

Thursday, Feb 16…
I just can't get enough of the beautiful
patterns of tree (live oak here) against sky.
Took our time this morning – really hate to leave this beautiful place. Uneventful drive to Austin (straight south on I-35), though we were confused by the freeway tolling system. It was intermittent, and sometimes there was a pay station for entering traffic and other times for exiting. At one point the sign indicated ALL TRAFFIC PAY AHEAD. We prepared to exit/return thru a pay station, and then saw that it was closed. So…  maybe we got off scot free, or maybe a photo was taken and Chris will find the bill in our mailbox some day.

Tiny homes make RVs look like whales.

Staying at Oak Forest Campground. Well maintained, and the laundry is only about 100’ away and totally user-friendly. More than half of the rigs here belong to long-term or permanent folks. The campground owners are clearing land for 80 more sites and have also recently brought in 5 tiny homes that they plan to furnish and rent (at $175/night according to another camper - I find that hard to believe).
