Friday, March 17…
We really hate to leave this park,
but it’s time to head south again. Pretty much straight south for a couple
hours and then we’re checking in at the Davis Bayou Campground in Gulf Islands National Seashore.
My first impression is lots of birdsong. Nice. After we’re settled we drive to
the official Visitor’s Center to find out what mischief we can get into over
the next week or so. The first thing we learned was not to mess around with any
alligators (duuuh). Brought back brochures, schedules and such so we can plan. Fortunately, the only public ferry to any of
the barrier islands resumes operation tomorrow.

(My 2nd "awareness" is humidity. At least there is a decent breeze. And sunset isn't too far off. 😃)
This bayou is not "a sluggish river." (more on that tomorrow) |
