We hike, sort of.

Sunday, April 30…

Starting our walk...
Relaxed day. Attended the local ward’s sacrament meeting. Excellent talk from an elder at the end of his mission. By the time I returned, the campground was looking pretty empty. Greg and I wandered down to the lake, where several families were enjoying a lazy Sunday afternoon. We followed a trail to both sides of the dam and eventually wound our way back to the MH. Tomorrow we’ve got a long drive to Rockbridge Baths, VA, to have dinner with a friend from my teaching days in Maryland. Tuesday we’re on to Charlottesville and Monticello.

Coming and going...

Checking out the beach...

Threatening skies...

Forbidden dam...

So, we're almost back when we pass this

makeshift "beehive" on the side of the road. All sorts of wood blocks and slices with holes drilled for bees. The small-print words on the DO NOT DISTURB sign say "pollinators at work." Kinda cool, and certainly unexpected. When we get back up to the camping area, I coax Greg into hanging out w/ Smokey for a bit.

"Say CHEESE!"

And one more thing... The last couple days we've seen several interesting road signs:
            Mint Spring
            Stuart’s Draft
            Forks of Ivy
            Old Potato Creek
            Maxwell House
