Hardings Point (Canada)

Thursday, June 22
North to Canada! Looong drive (no freeways), but beautiful. (No one really lives in Maine – it’s just miles and miles of gorgeous scenery w/ a house or town thrown in every now and then so you know you’re still on Earth.) The Penobscot Narrows Bridge (right) was super cool – just a single center strip of cables. And the TransCanada Hwy screams open space in every direction. Eventually we took a tiny, free ferry across to our campground on the Kingston (😊) Peninsula. Needing steps badly, I took a walk around and through the camp. Greg was grilling lamb chops when I got back.

TransCanada Highway
Water, water everywhere.

Onto the ferry (it runs on a cable)

Beginning my stroll...

...a nice little stream
...a spot to rest a bit

...and beavers! (But only just before sunset. We missed them.)
BlogPic... This poster was at the entrance of the camp office/store. It's an ad, but I loved the message (esp the part about fireflies).
