Sunday, May 28
I joined Lynn for church (First
Congregational) today. I’ve heard about Pastor John for years and figured I
ought to meet this man. Lovely service, focused on Veterans and service. One member read a
couple letters a family member had written during his service (WW2, I think).
Very moving. In the afternoon, Greg took the M3 over to Lynn’s daughter’s place
to change the oil and hang out w/ Tracy’s husband, who has lots of boy toys in
his garage. Lynn & I played another game of Scrabble. She won again.

BlogThoughts... Pastor John writes a weekly bit on the church website. Here's how he thinks.
PJ's weekly reflection:
Placing a YouTube video sponsored by Heineken beer at the top of my Mother's Day issue of PJ's Place may seem like an odd choice, yet when Heineken beer (regardless of whether or not they sell more beer as a result) does a better job than most at highlighting one of the most important issues of our current time, they deserve that recognition. It's a message, I believe, a majority of mothers would want us to get behind.
Simply stated, there is more which unites us than divides and we need to remember that as we work for peace. How did so many of us forget how to sit down (perhaps over a beer, or a cup of tea or coffee, or simply water) and listen, really listen to one another's story, coming to some deeper understanding of who our neighbor is so we might come to know and love our neighbor more?
When a beer ad helps us look at who we have become and invites us to become a better and higher version of ourselves, to sit down and discuss our differences as opposed to creating walls and divisions within our family, then it is that a beer ad deserves all our thoughtful attention and consideration.
Thank you to every woman, every mother, every man, every father, who has ever helped us do the same.
Blessings, Peace and Love--
